For your perusal ;

I think that I’ve found the perfect present for kids everywhere. Any kid receiving this ought to feel really really blessed and happy. A set of colouring materials! This here is thoughtfully packed in a finely crafted wooden case, and has probably needed to sufficiently colour any art work, (or homework).

Faber Castell Colouring Set

Found in Ion’s top floor, at the Faber Castell outlet. This goes for $1150.00 SGD. You should definitely consider this as the ideal gift for kids. Seriously!

After a week..

So what is it? It’s basically, PT + Heck lots of studying + lots of guard duty.

Sigh.

Oh right. More Paranormalities!

There’s sounds of cupboards shaking at night. Kept us awake till around 2am. See thing is, we swear the sound is coming from one direction – the room next to us. Problem – 1)Room is empty/unoccupied/occupantless (whatever). 2)Room is cupboardless.

Yay.

The Most Random Quote of BMT to date.

So like after the morning first parade,

Platoon Sergeant: Okay we have a lot of things to do today so I’ll make this quick. Go up now and make sure all your beds are in full working condition. Make sure the bedsheets are straight, iron them if you need to.

Us: huh? Platoon Sergeant can’t hear you! Too soft!

Platoon Sergeant: GO SLEEP LA NOOBCAKES!

So like okayyy. *sweats*

*goes up to enjoy more sleep*

The Paranormal

Yeah so I’ve been busy doing the laundry till I don’t have time to update okay! Okay I’ve fired a rifle, and threw a hand grenade. And have been scared half to death by them both.

But that aside, 17 more days till I can leave the island, hopefully for good. The horrors of traveling all the way to the east. *coughs* Anyways, there were paranormal sightings in the same room I’ve been sleeping in! Someone swore that something was pulling his hand in the middle of the night and was so scared that he ran all the way to the toilet and back. Another person in another room swore he saw someone asking him to go smoke with him and being half asleep, he followed out and looked out to see no one in the corridor. And all this happened in between 3am – 3:15 am.

Hmmm….

Okay after that, I’ve been sleeping with my mp3 on all night.

Paranormalities aside, the few pictures that can be snuck out from the island.

Pre-Enlistee Drabble

It’s currently Wednesday. Just a few more days before the day arrives. Been pretty busy over the past week meeting up with people before heading in. I swear Thursday and Friday will be no activity day where as Mr. B puts it, “meditate at home”.

I shall be bringing in a notebook to chronicle the days of an enlistee perhaps. It’s a good way to past the time when there’ll be no music companionship.

Heck I don’t really feel very much patriotic at the moment. I say our education system has failed to impress me with the need for National Service. Though after I go in, who knows? Maybe I’ll succumb to the joys of teamwork and leadership in there. But certainly not at this time where I feel they have wasted 6 months of my time where I could be doing something better. One heck of an administrative screw up don’t you think?

In any case, I’ll be journal-ling to see if there are any changes in my opinions. Then I’ll see if I’ll be a hypocrite to my opinions and am easily swayed.

Dental Care

Over the past days I’ve noticed people brushing their teeth in the male washroom over at work after lunch.

Don’t mind me for asking but is this keep your teeth clean week or something because this definitely just started last week or so. Either that or I’ve been blind for the last couple of weeks. Not that not brushing your teeth during lunch is a bad thing and all but it’s just a *?!* moment after all.

On a side note it kinda reminds you of primary school where everyone has their lil toothbrush and mug by the canteen washbasins brushing away after recess. Or is that quirky thing just a my school thing yet again?

Red Tape

In case you don’t know what red tape is, it means going thorough the Standard of Procedures (SOPs) for any matter. The most common occurrence you yourself would experience it would probably be government related – Paying your COE blah.

Getting IT stuff from our IT department has red tape too. The most feared word to hear from them would be “Have you gotten approval yet?”

Well I have no photographs of ourselves so here’s an illustration.

An Illustration

Getting approval’s certainly going one big round of additional paperwork and time consuming. You can’t share your passwords too! In their words, We must write down our passwords, seal it in an envelope and hand it over to a superior. On no account is anyone allowed to open it unless there’s an “emergency” and when the said person returns, the password must be changed and the process repeated. Their version of a faster way of getting approval is to send out the request for access to the person, CC this person and that person, don’t CC me in, BCC is fine and just wait for 3 working days.

Oh by the way, our payback for them asking for food is also, “Have you gotten approval yet?” You can e-mail us and CC him and her and we’ll get back to you in a month!

Save Gaia!

Yes yes we have all seen that disturbing Advertisement everywhere on TV with that doll’s head being sawed in half.

ewwwwwwww

To that effect there’s Green Programmes everywhere. Yup even in the place I work at.

On that note there’s an Eco-Office Initiative which encourages employees to switch off when not in use policy.

The funny thing is, everyday there are reports to be printed. Fine with me, any decent office would have thick few hundred page reports printed, if not it wouldn’t be much of a money making office. Thing is, they’re usually just drafts which I have to permanently bind with those metal binders. I see perhaps 2 or 3 sets of 500 page reports everyday?

Anyway, I see those same reports on my desk the next day with the word “Hi Lo Khai, Please help me shred thanks”

With that said, so much for an Eco-Office.

Thank you for viewing WTH Moments with me, your host, Khai.
