Life on another Island

Y’d know, I did say I would continue journaling my encounters in there, till I realized the free time in there you were supposed to complete everything they asked plus your own stuffs. Which include showering (and queuing for it), washing your clothes, polishing your boots and whatnot. I simply couldn’t find any time to just start writing down anything.

And also the fact that we were explicitly warned not to mention anything about it on the internet.

So that aside, I still get a shock when I walk past the mirror. That and and feeling sore. Nights are kinda gloomy without anything to do, I never imagined having to fight for a “Today” newspaper with people. Or rushing meals within ten minutes. Or suddenly doing push ups for no reason with absolutely no idea what just happened.

But hey 73 days to go, and then there’ll be another countdown.

Yay.

I was thinking, if I should add a list of messages to people. But I figure, hell you know what I’m going to say anyway.

Pre-Enlistee Drabble

It’s currently Wednesday. Just a few more days before the day arrives. Been pretty busy over the past week meeting up with people before heading in. I swear Thursday and Friday will be no activity day where as Mr. B puts it, “meditate at home”.

I shall be bringing in a notebook to chronicle the days of an enlistee perhaps. It’s a good way to past the time when there’ll be no music companionship.

Heck I don’t really feel very much patriotic at the moment. I say our education system has failed to impress me with the need for National Service. Though after I go in, who knows? Maybe I’ll succumb to the joys of teamwork and leadership in there. But certainly not at this time where I feel they have wasted 6 months of my time where I could be doing something better. One heck of an administrative screw up don’t you think?

In any case, I’ll be journal-ling to see if there are any changes in my opinions. Then I’ll see if I’ll be a hypocrite to my opinions and am easily swayed.

Walking on Air

No the title doesn’t have any relevance to the post. I’ve just no idea whatsover to title this entry.

I had my last day of work in PowerSeraya last Friday. I guess it was a lucky part time job where I was really taken care of. Probably gained some weight from all the biscuits in the pantry. Short but definitely something I’ll remember. Photos should be posted when I get them. That is if I get them. Thanks guys for everything (even the namecard scanning [it's THANKS A LOT for that one ] ). All the best in your careers there yeah.

Sunday was SMRT Challenge’08. No we didn’t win. 49th out of goodness knows how many teams, 200++? Anyway cheers to Team O028 for a great team effort.
