Of Ageing

If there’s something that I still can’t get used to, it’s probably colleagues referring to me as “boy” or beign treated like a kid that hasn’t seen teh world. And no I’m not rushing to try to grow up or anything. I think my mental age is too old and my reflex action is like “?!” I’m not that small or young and then when I snap back to reality, I realize that I really am still young and only 19ish so I can’t really blame them. Maybe someone should tell me how to degenerate my brain age a little to what it should be so I’ll live a little.

Latest Assignment

Okay so not exactly the latest per say but it’s the latest thing I’ve been working at for work.

Scanning Namecards.

Yes apparently there’s this nifty handheld scanner that you can scan namecards with and PowerSeraya has purchased a namecard recognition software to better manage the SVP’s namecards. Guess who got the opportunity to do this extremely important task.

Of course, a computer programme can only accurately interprete information to a certain degree thus leaving most of the editing work to the user namely me. The mechanism is that you do a bulk scan of all the namecards you have then go through each one and manually correct the information from the scanned images.

With that said, presenting, my current progress.

 

730 more to manually look through. Well at least I’ve finished scanning them.

Insomniac

The time is currently 1:31am.

The insomniac strikes again!

I can’t sleep and I have work. Oh boy.

How’s life? What’s been going on? What’s up?

Nothing! It’s boring. And I have a 3 day weekend. I think I just might forget about the off day on Monday and go in anyway.

So we were talking about pre-enlistment blues. As of today, my countdown widget on my desktop states 34 Days, 17 Hours, 24 Minutes and 38 Seconds. Though there isn’t anything to do. We’re like – “Stop the clock! There’s still so many things we want to do!”

And speaking of patriotism, it’s National Day today. The Mum’s probably somewhere on the floating platform doing some final rehearsal stuff and whatnot. I was thinking of the differences in the show of National Day spirit then and now. Before like a couple of years back, you could see blocks of flats literally covered in flags. Well last night, I think it was cool to spot just 1 flag on a block of flats. It’s a rarity.

The Faces

Today sure was some day.

I think I’ve seen 5 familiar faces today along Orchard Road.

I’m sorry to the person in Kinokuniya, since I really can’t remember your name, whoever you are.

Caught “The X Files” today. Yay Mulder & Scully.  I can now change my Office Workstation Screensaver again to the next movie I wanna watch. Whenever I change it, they’ll know I’ve watched it.
